4.9 - Channeling Emotions Into Our Art

One of the coolest things about being an artist? You get to take what you’re feeling and turn it into something real - something that can actually move people. Emotions aren’t just something we deal with; they’re fuel for your creativity.

Here’s a simple way to use your emotions to make your art more powerful and meaningful:

  1. Name it. What are you actually feeling? Be real with yourself. Is it anger? Joy? Fear? Hope?
  2. Find the story. Where’s that feeling coming from? What moment or experience is at the heart of it? What may have triggered the emotion?
  3. Turn it into something. A song. A dance. A sketch. A poem. Whatever your thing is, use it to express the emotion and share your story.

When you put your emotions into your art, your audience doesn’t just see it, they feel it. That’s what makes impact.
